Environmental management is integral to good project management. Environmental management must consider each element of the environment - biodiversity, cultural heritage, land, water and the impacts of noise and air quality on the community.

Planning and investigations undertaken as part of VicRoads preconstruction activities will identify the various environmental sensitivities that are associated with the proposed works, assess the risks, formulate objectives and develop contracts to address the expectations.

VicRoads works to avoid or, if not possible, minimise the impacts of construction and maintenance activities on the environment.
