VicRoads offers reduced registration for primary producer vehicles.
You are a primary producer if you are a person who is:

engaged solely or substantially in agricultural, horticultural, viticultural, dairying, pastoral or other like pursuits
All vehicles registered as a primary producer vehicle must be used solely in connection with the operator's business as a primary producer.
Eligible vehicles include:

Vehicles constructed for carrying a load, prime mover, a tractor, a vehicle with an engine used to drive or operate an agricultural implement, or a vehicle constructed for agricultural purposes or a Quad bike.

Vehicles with body types such as station wagons, wagons, utility and panel vans, that are fitted with no more than six (6) seats and have a goods carrying capability.

| Note: Motorcycles operated by primary producers are not eligible for a registration concession, however a lower Transport Accident Commission (TAC) premium applies to primary producer motorcycles. See TAC charges |
To apply to have your vehicle registered at the primary producer rate complete the Registration concession form [PDF, 23KB] and return it to VicRoads. The Registration concession form can be printed out as a PDF or you can pick it up at your nearest VicRoads Customer Service Centre.
