VicRoads has produced a 25 page, full coloured guide of treatment options that can be used by local councils to manage speed near schools in suburban streets.

It focuses on infrastructure measures for 40 km/h zones on local roads near schools.

The guide explains, with diagrams, 13 traffic management treatments that can be used to reduce speed in local streets.

Each treatment is described, its effectiveness discussed and advice about how it is installed is included. A list of sources for further information is provided for each treatment.
