The following works are part of the $2.25 billion M80 Ring Road Upgrade. VicRoads advises drivers to plan their journey in advance and follow message board signs. Please note all works are strictly weather permitting.

VicRoads general maintenance works
The speed limit on the Monash Freeway outbound near the Ferntree Gully Road exit has been reduced to 80km per hour because of safety concerns. An uneven surface has recently developed as a result of a diesel spill following an incident in December 2011.
VicRoads will be undertaking temporary repair works over the coming weeks. Reduced speed limit signs will be in place until these temporary works are complete. On completion of the short term works, a review will be undertaken to determine if the speed limit can be reinstated to 100km per hour until a permanent repair is done in the warmer months towards the end of the year.
Signs are in place to alert motorists of the speed change. The temporary speed limit is being enforced.

At least one lane will be available on the Flemington Road exit ramp during these works.

Five lanes on the West Gate Bridge are now open in each direction during weekdays. Overnight lane closures and some weekend daytime closures will be required for ongoing routine maintenance works. Reduced speed limits and minor delays may be experienced during this time.
