Trade apprentice registration discount

See if you're eligible to get 100% off your registration renewal.

Free registration for eligible trade apprentices.

If you’re a trade apprentice using your car for work, you may be eligible to get 100% off your registration renewal.

How to apply

To complete your application you’ll need to provide:

  • your name, date of birth, email and phone number
  • your VRQA(External link) registration number or training contract ID number (NSW/SA)
  • the registration number of the vehicle you use for work
  • your employer's name and email (if you are completing a training contract in SA or NSW) and
  • your Victorian driver licence number.

We’ll check your details with your employer when you apply, so make sure your employer knows you are providing their contact details in your application and they support your application before you apply. They’ll need to verify that you’re using your vehicle for work purposes. If they can’t confirm this, even if your application has been approved, we’ll send you an invoice to pay the amount difference.

Note: If you change employer a new VRQA number will be issued, and you will need to submit a new application.
