Understanding your report
If a vehicle gets declared as a statutory write-off, this means it has been too badly damaged for repair and safety reasons. This kind of vehicle isn't repairable and cannot be registered again in Australia. You can still use its parts to repair another vehicle, except for the chassis.
If a vehicle gets labelled as a repairable write-off, fixing it may cost more than its value. The vehicle could be registered again after passing safety tests, depending on state laws.
This means someone still owes money on the vehicle and the lender has not been paid back yet. The lender can enforce the debt or take the car if the loan isn’t paid off.
So, if you want to buy a vehicle that has money owing on it, make sure the seller settles the debt.
Missing information
If you see 'no record found' in your report, it means there's no information available for that section.
If the section shows as ‘unavailable’, this could indicate an error when the report was generated. In this case, give our support team a call so they can fix the report and resend it.
