Unregistered vehicle, construction zone and carnival permit fees
Unregistered vehicle permit (UVP)
Calculate the UVP fee as part of the application process. The cost depends on the length of time you need it, the type of vehicle and the garaged address.
Depending on your postcode, your garage location will fall into one of three risk zones: high, medium or low. This determines your TAC charge.
Construction zones and tracked vehicles
If you’re applying for a permit for a construction zone or a tracked vehicle like a bulldozer, the fee is based on two things:
- how many days you need the permit for
- the garage location of the vehicle.
Carnival or procession permits
If you want to apply for a UVP for a carnival float, refer to Transport Victoria for the process and fees.
